Event Details

Everyone is invited to a free book launch and author signing for As the Condor Soars: Conserving and Restoring Oregon's Birds, a new book from OSU Press that describes the major efforts to restore birds in the state by Oregon researchers, managers and citizen scientists over the past 100 years.

Co-editor Susan Haig will present a short talk, and many Corvallis co-authors will be on hand for book signing and conversation.  Toledo artist Ram Papish illustrated the book and will be present to display the many new prints created for the book.

The book is written for audiences of all ages and is a series of essays and biographies that summarize the role that ornithologists and citizen scientists have played in research, management, and conservation efforts for birds across the state over the past 150 years.  Learn about the efforts to save Northern Spotted Owls, Western Snowy Plovers, Sage Grouse and many more!  More information about the book is available here: www.asthecondorsoars.com
