Join us for Cooks and Books, a free, in-person cooking demonstration and showcase of cookbooks on Thursday, April 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Ballroom of C3 (Corvallis Community Center, 2601 NW Tyler Ave). Learn how to prepare and sample a recipe demonstrated by a local chef as well as browse cookbooks related to the recipe and theme.

The theme for April is Cooking with Kids: An Introduction to Brazilian Food with local health coach, Juliana Meyner.

About Juliana: Juliana Meyner is a former teacher from South America. She has been living in the United States for over twenty years. She has been working with children in educational and social services agencies in Oregon. She has always enjoyed cooking with children, incorporating this important life skill in curriculum, creating cooking, gardening and multicultural food explorations. Her passion for healthy cooking, nutrition and prevention of Childhood Obesity and Diabetes, led her to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. She shares her love and passion with the community by teaching cooking classes, coaching, providing nutritional guidance, supporting local farms and meal programs. She has a holistic approach to health. Her work integrates nutrition through healing foods, nature, and nourishment at all levels. She is on Instagram, Facebook, and on her Youtube channel: That’s my Kitchen.

Cooks and Books will also be happening on Thursday, June 22nd at the same time and in the same place with Emily Stimac of The Thyme Garden in Alsea, OR on the theme Seasonal Cooking with Herbs.

This event series is co-sponsored by C3, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, and Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
