The theme for June is Seasonal Cooking with Herbs with Emily Stimac of The Thyme Garden in Alsea, Oregon.

About Emily: Emily Stimac grew up helping at her family's restaurant, The Farmer's Kitchen, in Alsea, Oregon. While achieving degrees in graphic design and photography, she continued a life in the food industry, landing at the First Alternative Co-op as their marketing and newsletter editor for 8 years before returning to the family business and training under her mom Janet to be the head cook for luncheons, weddings and special events. Emily and her sister Bethany Glanville now own and operate The Thyme Garden, keeping their parent's vision alive and growing.

About The Thyme Garden: The Thyme Garden is a nursery, display garden and event space located at the base of Marys Peak since 1990. Their 2.5 acre display garden is the source of  fresh herbs for cooking, herb seeds for growing, certified organic hops for brewing, and also the backdrop for their Summer Tours and Luncheons. These seasonal events draw approximately 750-900 guests each year for a 90 minute tour of the garden followed by a 4-course luncheon en plein air under the fir trees. From start to finish the experience is a treat to all the senses and draws guests back each year. The Thyme Garden is pleased to offer our cookbooks with many great ideas for how to incorporate more fresh and dried herbs into your favorite classic recipes.

This event series is co-sponsored by C3, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, and Corvallis Sustainability Coalition.
