Born of Fire and Rain, by M. L. (Peg) Herring
Here at the tumultuous edge of a shifting continent, the temperate rainforest of the Pacific Northwest has a lot to say about living on a rapidly changing planet. This is a land of ancient trees, exploding mountains, disappearing owls, tsunamis, megafires, and ten million people. It is a land born of fire and rain.
Join us as we drift up to the top of the rainforest canopy, burrow down through hair-thin threads of fungi, and plunge headlong into a watershed flushed with rain and snowmelt. Through words and pictures, we will journey beyond the grid of latitude and longitude, into places only our imaginations can fit, to discover what it means to live in an ecological world.
