Spring Creek Project presents a conversation with Lynda Mapes, author of  The Trees are Speaking.  Free and open to the public.

Nature’s cathedral, old and mature forests are refuge for the human spirit, homes for rare and fragile species, and crucial allies in cooling our warming planet. Join us for a discussion about old and mature forests: why they matter, how we have lost so much of them -- and must save what remains.

JERRY FRANKLIN is the guru of old growth: he taught us in his career as a forest ecologist and professor at the University of Washington much of what we know about these ancient forests.

LYNDA MAPES is an environment reporter and author with a new book just out about these forests, The Trees are Speaking.

FRED SWANSON, a friend of Lynda’s and Jerry’s, will keep the conversation humming.

Books will be available for sale by Grass Roots Books & Music
