Join us virtually for a brief documentary about Oregon’s most charismatic threatened pollinator, the Oregon Silverspot Butterfly. After the documentary, there will be a question and answer with some of the scientists and researchers that are part of the work to recover this amazing species.

How do you find a caterpillar the size of a comma? How does habitat management impact survival? And once butterflies emerge, where do they go? From the use of “paw-mazing” detection dogs to tracking numbered wings, witness a groundbreaking summer on the Oregon Coast as scientists from the USDA Forest Service, US Fish & Wildlife Service, and University of Washington, Vancouver investigate important questions and make surprising discoveries for the recovery of the Oregon Silverspot Butterfly. Following the screening, there will be a talkback with scientists from the film where you can ask questions and learn more about this exciting work!
