TweensProgram Description
Event Details
In this workshop, students will practice mindfulness, movement (with yoga asana), breathing practices, and arts-based reflection to center, calm and inspire creative minds. We'll focus on storytelling without words to deepen self- and social-awareness for storytelling and community connection; it's a perfect practice for students who love to tell stories, use their imaginations, and sometimes need ways to use extra energy. The workshop is developed and lead by Jen Hernandez, a Corvallis-based illustrator, teaching artist and emergent yoga instructor, wellness and SEL facilitator. To learn more about Jen, visit her website at jenhernandezart.com
To participate, students need to be ready to move and interact with each other. A yoga mat is recommended as we will practice some poses together. Art materials will be provided for journaling and creating and to take home at the end of the class.
Registration for this event is required and opens on Sunday, March 10 at 1pm. Space is limited. This workshop is for tweens in grades 4-6.
